They're called Golden State even though there are three other Californian NBA franchises.
They had the gimmick of starting 7'7 Manute Bol and 5'3 Muggsy Bogues together.

Latrell Sprewell choked coach P.J. Carlesimo, which caused his contract with the Warriors to be terminated.
They have the NBA record for most overtime losses without a win in a season with eight (1979-80).
Why they might not be annoying
They won the very first NBA championship (which was then called the BAA), defeating the Chicago Stags.
They are one of three charter members of the NBA still playing.
Wilt Chamberlain was a Warrior when he had his 100-point game (1962).
They had the high-scoring trio of Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond, and Chris Mullin, which became known as Run-TMC.
Sarunas Marciulionis, the first player from the former Soviet Union to play in the NBA, was signed by the Warriors.
