Why he might be annoying:

He is a Gen X slacker.
He refuses to watch any reality shows even though he helped to start the trend.
Even though his band, Reigndance, was considered 'a band to watch out for' as well as having some of their songs on MTV, they never became successful and broke up.
He was caught on camera putting his hand down the back of his pants.
He constantly went off on cameramen because they wouldn't let him eat.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is considered a good front man with a great voice.
Even though he didn't do any Real World reunions, he came back to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of it.
He is referred to as the 'normal' one of the original 'Real World' cast.
