    At her father's insistance, she turned down an offer from Frank Capra to make a film in Hollywood.
    She had a long affair with frequent co-star Dilip Kumar.
    When nervous, she would giggle uncontrollably, often distracting co-stars and directors.
    She was the main support for her family of ten siblings.
    She was known as the Venus of the Indian Screen.
    She was born with a ventricular septal defect (hole in the heart) which led to her early death.
