Why he might be annoying
Though the favorite, he came in a disappointing third in the 2004 competition.
The World's Strongest man competition uses events that are made for TV, like lifting cars and pulling semi trucks.
It also uses weights (kilograms, stones) that are confusing to Americans.
His veins practically pop out of his body.
His name is hard to pronounce and even harder to spell.
He has giant trapezoids, which make his neck disappear.
This, along with his large muscles, makes his head look tiny.
He has giant thighs.
He has a tattoo on his biceps.
Why he might not be annoying
He won the World's Strongest Man competition two years in a row (2002-03).
He won the 2003 competition by the largest margin ever.
He holds records in 8 events.
He won the 2004 Strongman Super Series.
He has 24-inch biceps.
He can bench press over 600 lbs.
He can deadlift almost 900 lbs.
He was a boxer.
He practices Kyokushin karate, one of the most difficult forms.
Because of his incredibly low body fat, he is much faster than many other contestants.
He probably has the best body among strongmen.
He is typically 4 to 5 inches shorter than his opponents, which makes several of the events much more difficult.
He is a consummate entertainer, often taking times between events to do things like curl children in the audience.
He is a fan favorite.
Instead of jeering opponents, he cheers them on.
