Why they might be annoying
After recording 'Bathory,' Kothaar and Vvorthn left, leaving Quorthon to lead the project himself.
Their early music was heavily laden with Satanic lyrics and imagery.
Quorthon gained a massive cult following in the 1980s, many of whom were Satanists.
Most of Bathory's albums had terrible production quality.
For some reason, Quorthon's real name was never released and he remains enigmatic.
Quorthon dies atg about 48 from a heart attack.
Why they might not be annoying
Bathory had a huge impact on the underground metal scene, influencing bands such as Cradle of Filth, Emperor, and countless other extreme metal bands of the nineties.
Quorthon shifted his image from that of a Satanic-inspired artist to exploring Viking myths and legends.
He has a youthful disposition, and released rare tracks like 'You Don't Move Me (I Don't Give a Fuck).'
He even covered 'Deuce' by Kiss!
After nearly twenty years of producing albums on his own, he is still making records.
Quorthon took his band name from that of Countess Elizabeth Bathory, and he recorded a song in her 'honor.'
