    Sang with the bands Dr. Know (1981-83,1998-2001,2005-10), Harmful If Swallowed (1989-92), Flipper (1995) and the Dead Kennedys (2001-03)
    He said he was stoned for much of the filming of 'The Bad News Bears.'
    He said that in his late teens/early 20s he would go to meetings about acting jobs and 'I would show up high on coke, wearing a leather jacket with blue hair.'
    He also got a bunch of tattoos.
    He broke his shoulder and has suffered several concussions as a result of stage diving.
    He recorded a punk version of 'Best Friend' (the theme song from 'The Courtship of Eddie's Father').
    Jello Biafra called the Cruz-led version of the Dead Kennedys 'the world's greediest karaoke band.'
    He said about returning to school after the first season of 'The Courtship of Eddie's Father,' 'Half the class wanted to get my autograph, the other half wanted to beat me up.... It was weird.'
    He remained lifelong friends with 'Courtship of Eddie's Father' star Bill Bixby and named his son Lincoln Bixby Cruz.
    He gave up alcohol and drugs and said, 'I don't fall down as much, I remember more words to songs, and I am in better shape.'
    He is a care manager for Walking Miracle Malibu, a 'drug and alcohol recovery community.'
    He was a member of A Minor Consideration, a watchdog group looking after the welfare of former and current child actors.
    He has worked on sound boards and as an assistant editor for South Park, which used a Dr. Know song in a scene where Kenny dies in a mosh pit.
