Why he might be annoying:

    His nickname is 'the Diesel.'
His last name is not only difficult to pronounce but conjures up images of animal excrement.
He has had difficulty shaking his image as an adolescent upstart whose voice occasionally cracks.
When he was asked what superhero he would most like to be, he answered 'The Hulk.'
He was so surprised by his first Championship win, at 15, that he said in his post-win interview 'I don't know it just hooked up and it took off! I just wanted to finish first and strong and it just hooked up and it took off!'
His brother joked about celebrating after the win by recalling 'yeah I think he dropped the F-bomb; he said F-you maybe but meant to say F-yeah, so it was sort of in the middle between F-you and F-yeah...'
He claimed that he and his two brothers used to jokingly argue about who would be on the cover of a cereal box first.
Some racing fans have complained about his pose on his Wheaties Box cover ('um, like - who stands on the seat of their motor cross cycle!?')

Why he might not be annoying:

He brought RedBull KTM their first ever win in an AMA Motocross series.
He comes from a family of racers (his dad and brothers were amateur riders).
He is active with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; helping to fund medical breakthroughs in the fight against cancer.
He cites his grandmother's death to cancer, in 2005, as a major motivator for him, in both the sport and his charitable activities.
He is widely known for his humility and graciousness even in defeat.
He secured every Moto/Supercross title the sport had to offer by the age of 21.
He is the rare motocross athlete to turn pro directly from the B-class in amateur racing.
He helped kick off the first annual MN Major River-to-River Ride to benefit St. Jude Hospital (July 2012).
He raced through his 2012 Supercross season, despite suffering a collarbone break that required surgery (he made third place).
He listed his favorite movie as 'Days of Thunder' and his favorite video game as 'Motocross vs. ATV/MX vs. ATV.'
He was a spokesperson for Nike’s LIVESTRONG Campaign for cancer awareness, and became a member of the LIVESTRONG Global Envoy Team, in 2011.
