Why he might be annoying:

    As a legislator, he is a die-hard conservative.
    He publicly declared his opposition to the creation of the independent 9/11 Commission.
    He blamed former president Bill Clinton for the C.I.A. failures at the turn of the millennium.
    He was known for his short fused attitude of management.
    His clashes with then-director of National Intelligence, John Negroponte, forced him to quit his post as C.I.A. director.

    Despite his conservative attitudes, he has supported numerous acts of environmental legislation.
    He majored in ancient Greek while studying at Yale.
    He is an avid organic farmer.
    After the blunders of his predecessor George Tenet, he helped to restore some order and discipline in the C.I.A.
