Sports Executive

The Resume

    (July 7, 1967- )
    Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Vice Pesident and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs (2003-08)

Why he might be annoying:

He was frequently addressed by his initials 'JFJ.'
He frequently traded away young players and draft picks for players way past their primes.
He traded away prospect Tuukka Rask for Andrew Raycroft.
He signed older players like Darcy Tucker and Bryan McCabe to long term contracts which overpaid them more than they were actually worth.
Instead of taking responsibility for the team's dismal 2005-06 season, he had Pat Quinn take the fall.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is the son of former sports executive John Ferguson.
The Leafs posted franchise records in wins and points during his tenure as GM.
He drafted prospects such as Jiri Tlusty and Justin Pogge.
Unlike his predecessor, he gave younger players chances to earn roster spots.
Prior to his appointment as a general manager, he worked in various player personnel capacities in the minor leagues.
