Why they might be annoying:

Weller said he and Talbot got along because ‘He shares my hatred of the rock myth and the rock culture.’
Lee was brought into the band because she was dating (and later married) Weller.
They were one-hit wonders in the US, with ‘My Ever Changing Moods’ their only Top 40 hit.
AllMusic commented, ‘As [Weller’s] pretentions increased, the number of hits the Style Council had decreased; by the end of the decade, the group was barely able to crack the British Top 40.’
When they broke up, Weller said, ‘It's something we should have done two or three years ago..’

Why they might not be annoying:

Before forming the band, Weller was frontman for the Jam and Talbot was a member of Dexy’s Midnight Runners.
On Style Council albums, Weller added soul and jazz elements to his songwriting.
Weller and Talbot appeared on Band Aid’s ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ and the band performed at Live Aid.
As one-hit wonders, they still had one more American hit than the Jam had.
