In 1998, he was sentenced to 4 months in jail for air rage, after threatening a pilot and stewardess on a flight.
He was fond of marijuana and psychedelic drugs.
In 2005, he was arrested for assault during a San Francisco gig.

He fronted one of the most influential bands of the 80's, the Stone Roses.
He appeared in a cameo role in the movie adaptation of 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.'
