The Resume

    (August 6, 1957- )
    Born in Junction City, Kansas
Drafted first overall by the Atlanta Braves in the 1978 Major League Baseball Draft
Infielder for the Atlanta Braves (1978-86), Yakult Swallows (1987) and the St. Louis Cardinals (1988)

Why he might be annoying:

He looked rather chunky to be considered a baseball player.
He was described as being bull-necked by Sports Illustrated.
His tenure with the Braves was overshadowed by a contract dispute, when the team lowballed him into accepting a deal that was below his market value.
He never got any offers as a free agent during the 1987 off-season as a result of a collusion between the owners in an attempt to drive down player salaries.
His final major league season was marred by shoulder injuries, which limited him to play in just 60 games (1988).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was among a select group of players to go directly from college to the majors.
He was the first recipient of the Golden Spikes Award (1978).
He was the first player in baseball history to earn both the Golden Spikes Award and Rookie of the Year Award in the same year.
He is the 11th player in MLB history to record four home runs in a single game (July 6, 1986).
He was part of a players lawsuit that successfully won their case against the owners for collusion (2004).
