Actress
    (November 21, 1965- )
    Born in Nashville, Tennessee
    American actress, singer, and dancer
Most famous for movie roles in 'Dirty Dancing,' 'Runaway,' 'Staying Alive,' 'Xanadu,' and 'Curse of the Crystal Eye'
Appeared on TV series 'Fantasy Island'
Appeared in rock band Toto's video for 'Rosanna'
Married to musician and record producer Richard Marx
Member of the band Animotion (1989-90)
She married Richard Marx, who was seven years younger than her, and ended up divorcing him after more than twenty-five years of marriage.
She refused nude scenes and an offer to pose for Playboy, citing her Baptist faith and not wanting to embarrass her parents, but, portrayed a sexually promiscuous dancer who has an illegal abortion in 'Dirty Dancing' and played a stripper in 'Flashdance,' neither of which seem very Baptist things to do.
She appeared in the 'Saturday Night Fever' sequel stinker, 'Staying Alive.'
Her first movie appearance was as a dancer in Olivia Newton John's bomb, 'Xanadu.'
She started out as a gofer at Opryland.
Her appearance in the video for Toto's song 'Rosanna' led to her being labeled as having the sexiest ankles in the world. PS: You have to watch the video.
She was a very capable songwriter in her own right and contributed several songs to the 'Staying Alive' soundtrack.
On the verge of breaking out as a star, she retired as a performer to raise her family.
She was a highly skilled dancer with extraordinary charisma, and in 'Flashdance,' was clearly a better dancer than star Jennifer Beals -- or rather Beals' stand-ins.
She stayed out of trouble offscreen.
