His mental health deteriorated so much that his son was regent for the last 10 years of his reign.

His madness was probably caused by porphyria, a hereditary blood disease.
His story was made into a movie, 'The Madness of King George.'
When a woman tried to kill him, he asked that her life be spared.
He founded the Royal Academy of Arts.
He collected books.
He was called 'Farmer George' for his interest in agriculture.
