He was addicted to alcoholic and drugs
His WWE Title reign lasted 21 days.
He was basically used to beat Bruno Sammartino, so he can lose the title to Pedro Morales.
His nickname was ‘The Russian Bear.'
His manager, Captain Lou Albano, would accompany him to his matches along with Albano's tag team, the Mongols, to serve for 'crowd control' purposes, but all they would do was interfere with his matches.

He shocked wrestling fans when he beat Bruno Sammartino for the WWE Heavyweight Title in January of 1971.
He retired after over 30 years in the business.
Despite being a hated heel, he was always respectful outside the ring and has been involved in a lot of charity work, most notably with the Children's Miracle Network.
A recovered alcoholic and drug addict, he lectures about the dangers of drugs and alcohol and how they can ruin your life.
