Why Battlestar Galactica (1978) might be annoying:

    It ripped off ‘Star Wars.'
    It was cancelled after 24 episodes.
    Its following spinoff ‘Galactica 1980' tanked.
    They try to get Mark Hamill to play Commander Adama, but he declined the role.
    Its ‘re-imagined' version changed the gender of Starbuck and Boomer from male to female which upset some fans of the original show.

Why Battlestar Galactica (1978) might not be annoying:

    It has a cult following.
    It was satirized on Seth Green's stop motion animated show ‘Robot Chicken.'
    Despite its cancellation, it won an Emmy for Outstanding Costume Design for a Series (1979).
    Dirk Benedict's character, Starbuck placed #21 on the list of the '25 Greatest Sci-Fi Legends' by TV Guide (August 2004).
    The original Cylon suit is displayed at the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame in Seattle.
