    She had a wispy, little-girl voice.
    She made commercials for Hires Root Beer and one of her albums was released as a premium that could be bought for a dollar and a Hires proof of purchase.
    When appearing in nightclubs, she demanded that no food or drink be served during her performance.
    She performed at Carnegie Hall (1976) and the White House (1993).

    She founded her own record label.
