Why she might be annoying
Critics argued that she broke the record just because of technological advancements.
During her voyage around the world, she never slept more than 20 minutes.
Ironically, the man whose record she broke eventually broke her record (January 20, 2008).

She is the fastest person to sail around the world (February 2005).
She is the youngest woman to become a Dame of the British Empire, winning the award at the age of 28.
She can speak French fluently.
She works with the French charity Á chacun son cap, meaning ‘Everyone has a goal’ (2000).
She set up a charity organization called ‘Ellen MacArthur Trust, which helps children suffering from cancer by taking them on sailing trips (2003).
