Why he might be annoying
He plays a position that is usually reserved to extend the career of retiring ball players.
He tends to get hit in the back by pitches and it sometimes causes bench clearing brawls.
He replaced two franchise players, Don Mattingly with the Yankees and Mark McGwire with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Although he bats lefty, he throws righty.
Why he might not be annoying
Just about every sports analyst uses the same word to describe him, 'class.'
As a Cardinal, he chose to wear #21 to honor N.Y. Yankee Paul O'Neill.
When he returned to Yankee Stadium as a Cardinal, he received a standing ovation every time he batted.
