Why he might be annoying

Joseph McCarthy thought his research would help communism spread in America.
He was reportedly a bisexual masochist with odd sexual behaviors.
His research methods were not scientifically accurate.
One quarter of his original survey sample were prisoners, which skewed his results.
Why he might not be annoying
He was the first person to do extensive sex research, and his findings are still cited in many studies.
He underminded the social taboo of discussing sexual behavior to create the field of sexology.
He was among the first to study women's sexual behavior.
He helped trigger the Sexual Revolution of the 1960's.
He graduated Bowdoin College magna cum laude and did graduate work at Harvard.
