They often spell their name in ALL CAPS.
'Different Colors' was used in a Pepsi commercial.
They paint their faces during live shows.
Their name was inspired by the Police song 'Walking on the Moon.'
Petricca said their influences are 'artists that are unafraid of being kooky,' specifically citing Talking Heads, Prince and David Bowie.
'Anna Sun' was called the 'song of the summer' by Esquire, Seventeen and MTV.
'Shut Up and Dance' was #1 on Billboard's Hot Rock Songs chart for 27 weeks, breaking the old record of 23 weeks held jointly by Imagine Dragons' 'Radioactive' and Hozier's 'Take Me to Church.'
'Shut Up and Dance' was so ubiquitous that presidential candidate John Kasich busted a move to it at a press conference. (Petricca's diplomatic response: 'I can't say we endorse him or any other candidate, but we want our music to connect with all sorts of people.')
