    He spent the last couple seasons of his NHL career on horrendous Sharks teams.
    His career ended abruptly due to back problems.
    Despite his impressive accolades at Cornell, he was passed over in the NHL Entry Draft.

    He left Cornell as the school's all-time leader in saves.
    He served as a valuable mentor to Patrick Roy during the latter's first few seasons in the NHL.
    He and Roy were co-winners of the William M. Jennings trophy for three consecutive seasons (1987-89).
    He recorded the first win in the history of the Sharks franchise.
    He served as the primary broadcaster for the Anaheim Ducks since the franchise's inception.
