Why they might be annoying:

They are primarily promoted in the US by PBS.
Many of the ensemble members have Celtic names that are hard to spell and pronounce.
They are often compared to New Age artist Enya (They did a cover of her hit song 'Orinoco Flow').

Why they might not be annoying:

All of the members are multi-talented musicians coming from musical families.
Their albums have spent all of 2005 and 2006 on the top of Billboard's World Music Chart.
Their first televised concert for PBS was a big success and developed into a world tour.
One of their purposes is to introduce people to traditional Celtic music.
