Why they might be annoying:

Much of their humor was based on blatant racial stereotyping.
They appeared in blackface in vaudeville and in the Amos 'n' Andy movie 'Check and Double Check' (1930).
Gosden called Check and Double Check 'just about the worst movie ever.'

Why they might not be annoying:

'Amos n Andy' was the first syndicated radio program in the US.
At the height of its popularity, 'Amos n Andy' captured 60% of the radio audience.
Gosden and Correll provided voices for 170 distinct characters during the show's first 10 years.
Gosden was good friends with Frank Sinatra and was best man at Sinatra's wedding to Barbara Marx.
