Many songs on her ‘A Few Small Repairs’ album dealt with real life failed relationships.
She performed at Lilith Fair.
She suffered from depression.
She sometimes feels she should ‘apologize’ to her fans for writing ‘such personal songs.’

She was nominated for eight Grammy Awards, winning three.
