Why they might be annoying
Arlene Smith wrote several of the group's early songs but was not credited as the writer when those songs were released.
They moved to several different record labels in the late 1960s, and, eventually, disbanded.
Arlene Smith re-formed the group in the 1970s with new members.
They appeared on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ballot several times but failed to earn enough votes to be voted in.
Why they might not be annoying
They were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame (2001).
They were one of the few successful female doo wop groups and one of the first successful r&b groups.
Their first public performance was at the legendary Apollo Theater.
Their beautiful ballad, 'Maybe,' is considered a doo wop era classic.
