Why he might be annoying:

He divorced and remarried the next year, when he second wife died he remarried a year later.
He was miscast as Gen. George Custer due to his thick British accent in 'Custer of the West' (1968).
He wrote and starred in the play 'The Man in the Glass Booth,' which dealt with Nazi war crimes. However when it was made into a movie he demanded his credit be removed (1975).
His last two films, 'Avalanche Express,' (1979) and 'Force 10 from Navarone' (1978) were released after he died.

Why he might not be annoying:

His physician father was an alcoholic.
He earned an Oscar nomination as Henry VIII in 'A Man for All Seasons' (1966).
He wrote his 'sinking of the Indianapolis' speech in 'Jaws.'
Just as he was getting known, he died of a heart attack at fifty-one.
