    (circa 293-373)
    Born in Alexandria, Egypt
    Catholic priest and bishop of 3rd century AD Egypt
    Most famous for his battles against the Arian heresy
    First person to list the modern canon of the New Testament
    Secretary to Alexander of Alexandria at the Council of Nicea
    Non-Arian related writings include; a biography of Saint Anthony the Great, Against the Gentiles, and On the Incarnation of the Word

Why he might be annoying:

    Most of his writings were polemics against the Arians.
    He chose and consecrated his own successor before he died.
    He did not write the Athanasian Creed credited to him.
    He was exiled from and later restored to his position as bishop of Alexandria some five to seven times because of his opposition to the Arian heresy.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was much loved by his flock.
    He liked playing 'church' as a child, i.e., pretending to say mass, baptizing other children etc.
    He worked very hard to help the poor while bishop of Alexandria.
    He stood up for what he believed and was a major part of the rejection of Arianism.
