Why she might be annoying
To raise money and show off her success with Helen Keller they toured for four years in a vaudeville show.
She separated from husband (1913).
She overexerted herself so much that towards the end of her life she went completely blind.
Why she might not be annoying
Her mother died when she was nine, her father soon deserted her and her two siblings. None of her family would care for her and she became an orphan.
She was placed in a poor house and the illness she had since she was three progressed and cause total blindness.
She graduated Perkins Institution at the top of her class.
Surgery partially restored her sight.
At twenty, she became a tutor to six year old Helen Keller.
Despite Keller being blind and deaf, she taught her to read and write.
The TV program, movie and Broadway show 'Miracle Worker' is based on them.
She gave hope to many handicapped people who felt isolated.
