Why he might be annoying
He is New York City's answer to Punxsutawney Phil.
It costs $3.00 (general admission) to see him at the Staten Island Zoo.
He is a vegetarian.
He is a rodent.
New York mayor Mike Bloomberg got into hot water for visiting with Staten Island Chuck rather than attending the funeral of a fireman who died in the World Trade Center disaster (February 2, 2002).

He lives in Staten Island New York

He accurately predicted weather 16 out of his first 20 years (that's 80% and better than most weather reporters).
He is not a publicity hog like Punxsutawney Phil.
