Why she might be annoying
It would be impossible to pronounce her strange name correctly without prior knowledge of it (pronounced E-ben Yigh-leh).
Despite her success in Denmark and popular foreign films she has not managed to make her mark in Hollywood. She appeared in only one Hollywood film since her major acting debut in 1996.
She has a bad attitude towards the film industry (yet still works in it).
She is divorced.
Why she might not be annoying
Although it is her goal to work more in Hollywood, she said in an interview 'It's important for me to let the industry people know that they are not as important as my country and my family. I'm Danish. I'm not going to live there -- never, ever.'
Director Stephen Frears cast her in 'High Fidelity' without an audition.
She speaks English so fluently it appears as if it is her first language (being from Denmark, Danish is actually her first language).
Max von Sydow is her role model.
She won an honorable mention award for an outstanding young actress at The Berlin International Film Festival (1999).
She frequently appears in Denmark's FHM sexiest women of the year list.
