Directed the films 'The Shawshank Redemption (1994),' 'The Green Mile (1999)' and 'The Majestic (2001)'

Why he might be annoying:

He was born in a refugee camp.
His first two films were based on Stephen King period prison novels and he joked that his career will stall until King writes another one for him to adapt.
George Lucas rejected the first script that he wrote for the fourth Indiana Jones film.
His direction is often heavy-handed.

Why he might not be annoying:

He worked his way up the ranks of Hollywood, starting as a lowly production assistant and ending up as an Oscar nominated writer and director.
He had the exclusive honor of being one of only 6 film makers to have his first two feature films nominated for best picture Oscars ('The Shawshank Redemption' and 'The Green Mile'). He also received nominations for the screenplays of each of these films.
He did several uncredited script re-writes for major Hollywood films.
