    She was the spokesperson for Muriel cigars.
    Although a cigar spokesperson, she was allergic to smoke.
    She was married three times and divorced twice.
    She was nominated three times for an Emmy and didn't win once.
    Ernie Kovacs was her husband.
    Her husband and her daughter were killed in unrelated car crashes.
    When her husband died in a car accident, Edie discovered he owed the IRS several hundred thousand dollars in back tax.
    She took it upon herself to pay the back taxes, and appeared in television commercials to raise the money.
    After several years, the back taxes were fully paid off.
    She was able to purchase back most of Ernie Kovacs' library of entertainment, to keep it available to the public.
    She was probably one of the most successful comediennes of the fifties.
