Why they might be annoying
They were one-hit wonders in the United States.
Although known for their Scottish sounds, none were Scottish-born. (Stuart, Mark and Tony were English. Bruce was Canadian.)
The band lost the 'Best New Artist' Grammy to Culture Club.
Why they might not be annoying
They were famed for making their guitars sound like traditional Scottish instruments such as bagpipes and fiddles.
Stuart Adamson's 2001 death left the three surviving band members devastated.
In 2007, in celebration of over 25 years as Big Country, the remaining band members reunited to tour the United Kingdom.
