Why he might be annoying
He started with a band called Spooky Tooth (1967).
When the band broke up in 1970 he formed a band called Wonderwheel, disbanded it, went solo, helped reunite Spooky Tooth in 1973 and disbanded the band again in 1974 (make up your friggin' mind).
He is a two hit wonder.
He composed and sang a song for the John Travolta box office bomb 'Stayin' Alive (1983).'
Why he might not be annoying
He speaks fluent German.
He played keyboards for George Harrison's album 'All Things Must Past' (1971) and the two became close friends.
His 1975 'Dream Weaver' album was one of the first to use only synthesizers and drum machines to create all the music (except for one song where Ronnie Montrose was guest guitarist).
Both singles reached #2 on the Billboard charts in 1976 and sold more than 2 million copies.
The album containing the songs went certified platinum and sold over 2 million units.
Tone Loc used samples of his songs on his million selling album 'Loc-ed After Dark (1989).'
At Mike Myers' request, he rerecorded 'Dream Weaver' for the smash movie 'Wayne's World,' and the soundtrack sold more than 2 million copies.
