    She was labeled 'Universal's answer to Grace Kelly.'
    Her duet with Bob Hope singing 'Nothing in Common' in the 1958 film 'Paris Holiday' was cut.
    She lost the part of Marion Crane in Hitchcock's 'Psycho' to Janet Leigh.

    Her classmates at Northwestern included Charlton Heston, Paul Lynde, Cloris Leachman, Patricia Neal and Charlotte Rae.
    She was discovered by a talent agent at the famed Pasadena Playhouse.
    She was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in 'Some Came Running' and won the Golden Laurel Award's Best Supporting Actress for the role.
    She wrote the screenplay for the 1975 movie 'Rooster Cogburn' starring John Wayne and Katharine Hepburn.
    When her autobio came out it was noted that she was one of the few actresses who had anything nice to say about working with Humphrey Bogart.
