Why Kabbalah might be annoying
Traditionally its knowledge has been restricted to a select few.
Its esoteric nature makes it hard to clearly define its central ideas.
It may contradict Old Testament teachings against practicing magic.
Some of its texts demonize non-Jews.
Followers claim it has been practiced since Old Testament times, but there is little evidence of this.
It is rejected by most Jews, except for Hassids.
Some Kabbalah centers sell overpriced bracelets and bottled water.
Why Kabbalah might not be annoying
Although highly mystical, it requires followers to behave morally in day-to-day life.
It heavily influenced Christianity.
Some of its teachings resemble Sufism or Islamic mysticism.
Its secretive nature may have been the result of years of foreign conquest.
Modern followers such as Madonna have caused a resurgence of interest in it.
Many believers feel its study should be open to everyone.
