Why she might be annoying
She has a 'Cos I'm Free' tattoo on her right arm.
She is shy.
She appears to be uncomfortable when she dresses up for award events.
Although she has publicly stated that Australia is the country of opportunity for everyone, she said she wants to run for Australian Parliament.
In her speech she says she wants to kick some white backsides over the stolen generation.
Why she might not be annoying
She is the first Aborigine to win an Olympic Gold Medal.
She says the best way to win a race is to relax.
She said: 'I like to typify any young aboriginal person in Australia today.
We are living in a country of unity and enjoying the opportunities here that are for everybody of all backgrounds, cultures, religious interests, whatever.
That's what I'm about; free to be who I am in my own home.
I don't feel I have a particular responsibility to the indigenous people.
But as I get older and my emotions get stronger, my pride in who I am becomes more obvious.'
