The Resume

    (January 9, 1928-June 22, 2019)
Born in New York City, New York
    Birth name was Judith Tarcher
Wrote the novels 'Scruples' (1978), 'Princess Daisy' (1980), 'Mistral's Daughter' (1982), 'I'll Take Manhattan' (1986), 'Til We Meet Again' (1988), 'Dazzle' (1990), 'Scruples Two' (1992), 'Torch Song' (1993), 'Lovers' (1994), 'Spring Collection' (1996) and 'The Jewels of Tessa Kent' (1998)

Why she might be annoying:

When she took a short-story class in college, the professor, despite liking her writing, gave her a B for her horrible spelling.
She claimed the experience traumatized her so much that she did not write fiction for another three decades.
While an editor at 'Cosmopolitan' magazine, she wrote the article 'The Myth of the Multiple Orgasm.'
She calls her literary genre 'beautiful people books.'
    She had two face lifts.
She said, 'I really love being the center of attention. I think it's because I'm a frustrated actress.'

Why she might not be annoying:

She was married to TV producer Steve Krantz for 52 years until his death.
She is reportedly the third best-selling female author of all time, after Agatha Christie and Barbara Cartland.
The paperback rights to her second novel, 'Princess Daisy,' sold for a then-record $3.2 million.
She said, 'I write to make myself and others happy. All the good people live happily ever after, and the villain gets what he deserves.'
At 70, feeling that she was running low on inspiration, she announced the end of her literary career, saying it was better than writing novels she would later regret.
