Mayor
    (July 23, 1981- )
    Born in Oakton, Virginia
Mayor of Minneapolis (assumed office January 3, 2018)
    Minneapolis City Councilman (2013-2018)
    Democrat
He resembles Gordo from Lizzie McGuire.
He was criticized for his handling of anti-police riots following the police brutality death of George Floyd (May 2020).
His handling of the crisis resulted in the state taking control by mobilizing the National Guard, as well as President Donald Trump taking to Twitter to call him a 'very weak Radical Left Mayor.'
Ironically, he had campaigned heavily on the promise to improve police relations with the black community after the 2016 shooting of Philando Castile.
    He ran professionally after graduating.
He ran for Team USA in the 2007 Pan American Games marathon.
He is Minneapolis' first Jewish Mayor in forty-five years (and only its second following Al Hofstede).
He advocated for affordable housing in minority neighborhoods.
He implemented disciplinary measures against police officers who violated the city body camera policy before the George Floyd murder took place.
He responded to the President's criticism saying: 'Let me say this. Weakness is refusing to take responsibility for your own actions. Weakness is pointing your fingers at someone else during a time of crisis. Donald Trump knows nothing about the strength of Minneapolis. We are strong as hell.'
