The Resume

    (November 20, 1941-June 6, 2019)
Birth name is Malcolm John Rebennack, Jr.
    Nickname is 'The Night Tripper'
Recorded 'Right Place, Wrong Time,' 'Iko Iko' and 'Such a Night'
Acted in 'The Last Waltz (1978),' 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978),' 'Pray TV (1980),' 'Energy and How to Get It (1981),' 'Candy Mountain (1988)' and 'Blues Brothers 2000 (1998)'
Sang the theme song for the NBC TV series 'Blossom' (1991-95)
Wrote the autobiography 'Under a Hoodoo Moon' (1994)
Produced and sang 'Cruella De Vil' for the live action remake of the Disney cartoon '101 Dalmatians (1996)'

Why he might be annoying:

He dropped out of high school his junior year.
He had brushes with the law and experimented with drugs during the '60s.
Only 'Right Place, Wrong Time' cracked the Top 20 on the Billboard charts.
He is an underachiever and admittedly never lived up to the full potential he aspired for himself.
He looks like he can't get enough of his native cajun cooking.
He sings the TV jingle, 'Love that chicken from Popeye's.'
He sang the theme song for the Bruce Willis box office bomb 'Hudson Hawk (1991).'
He played 'himself' in an episode of TV's 'Touched By An Angel.' (1996)
In 2004 he recorded the weirdly titled album 'N'Awlinz: Dis Dat or d'Udda.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He started as a session musician in the 1950's and has found work in the music industry ever since.
He started as a guitar player but switched to piano after his index finger was partially shot off protecting a friend of his.
He recorded what many consider to be his greatest album, 'Gris-Gris,' with studio time leftover from a Sonny & Cher recording session. (1968)
Its 'voodoo psychedelia' sound inspired him to dress the part and he started wearing elaborate Mardi Gras clothing at his concerts.
He's worked with rock legends Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton.
He was inducted into the Louisiana Blues Hall of Fame.
    He won 4 Grammy Awards.
He is equally adept at playing rock, jazz, R&B, funk, swing, old school New Orleans blues ballads and soul with Caribbean & West African rhythms.
