She enjoys the loneliness of the run, saying: 'When you get out to about mile 70 or 80, it's just you and the trail. That's what's great about it. It's the same for every person out there.'
She is not satisfied with the 26.2 mile marathon and runs distances almost 4 times greater.
Why she might not be annoying
She was selected UltraRunning Magazine UltraRunner of the Year for eight straight years.
She is a member of the Road Runner's Club Hall of Fame (1994).
In less than four months, she completed five 100-mile runs.
She was selected #65 by Sports Illustrated for Women's Century's Greatest Sportswomen.
