Jacqui was actually born in Woolwich, not Plumstead (as Carrie was).
Many music critics regarded them as excessively sassy and gimmicky, but sorely lacking in talent.
The title of their second CD (‘Girl Power') became the motto of the Spice Girls.
Their style has been compared to punk rock karaoke.
They both have a major weakness for sunglasses.

They were considered Spice Girls before there were Spice Girls.
‘Trouble' has appeared on the ‘Jawbreaker' soundtrack.
Only one song from the ‘We Are Shampoo' CD (‘House of Love') was not co-written by the duo.
They had an independent label before being signed to IRS Records.
Perhaps not surprisingly, all of their recordings have been available in Japan.
