The Resume

    (1921- )
    Root for their NFC team
Often dress or paint themselves in the team colors of Navy Blue, Orange and White
    Team originally the Decatur Staleys
They love their bear mascot, Grizz

Why they might be annoying:

They know every word to the song, 'Super Bowl Shuffle.'
They know the words to the team fight song 'Bear Down.'
Fans disappointed with a 1/19/02 playoff home loss to the Philadelphia Eagles returned to Soldier Field the next couple of days before most of the stadium was torn up to be rebuilt. Some fans took stolen bulldozers and destroyed the field. Other fans ripped out seats with axes and their bare (bear) hands.
A fan once challenge Mike Dikta, to a fist fight and Dikta accepted.
They are a little Bear obsessive and many root for a baseball team called the Cubs.
Female fans of William 'The Fridge' Perry formed a hefty cheerleading squad called the 'Refrigerettes,' a minimum weight of 200 lbs was required.
When the NFL refused to allow quarterback Jim McMahon to wear a headband advertising Adidas, the fans started wearing headbands with obscene words for the NFL commissioner on it.
They still revel in the Bears only Superbowl win (1986).

Why they might not be annoying:

In 2002, when Soldier Field was being rebuilt, fans traveled hours to the home games at the University of Illinois.
The 1985 defense was referred to as the 'Junkyard Dog Defense.' This led Bears fans to bark during the games that season.
After the team won Super Bowl XX, the city threw a ticker tape parade. Nearly 500,000 fans showed despite a wind chill factor of negative 25.
They are proud that their team is referred to nationally as 'Da Bears.'
They are parodied on Saturday Night Live, especially by John Goodman.
Fan favorite George Musso played against Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan in college.
Mike Dikta was famous for leaving after losing a game and giving the booing fans the finger.
Although they taunted Mike Ditka and mocked his temper tantrums, they loved him and thought of him as a god.
Win, lose or tie, they are among to most loyal fans in the NFL.
