Many people consider them hit or miss: you either like them or you don't.
They would stretch songs like 'Jessica' out for 30-40 minutes during concerts.
    They had two drummers.
    They abused alcohol and drugs.
    They were very conceited.
Gregg Allman's marriage to Cher caused many problems within the band, especially when he moved to Los Angeles.
'Win, Lose or Draw' was recorded in separate parts of the country, with the band on the East and Gregg on the West.
Chuck and Lamar refused to return to the band for their 1978 reunion.
Many feel that they broke up one of the best rhythm sections in rock when they fired Jaimoe (1981).
They've broken up and reformed three times.
They mixed blues, country and jazz.
Duane was a session guitarist for Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, John Hammond and King Curtis.
Their rhythm section (being bass and drums) were described as being 'as busy as the lead instruments.'
Duane Allman died of a motorcycle accident midway through the recording for 'Eat a Peach.'
They decided to not replace Duane with another guitarist but to incorporate a piano instead.
Barry Oakley also died in a motorcycle accident, a few blocks away from where Duane died.
Their success as a band made their indy label, Capricorn Records, a major label.
They are arguably the most popular Southern rock band ever.
