Why he might be annoying
He had only one Top 40 solo hit, which was a TV theme song.
He said, ‘I'm sorry that the highest visibility performance I've ever given [at the Woodstock festival (1969)] was one where I was smashed beyond belief.'
In the early 70s, he ‘did a crazy year of cocaine.'
Why he might not be annoying
He said ‘I'm glad the group [the Spoonful] broke up when it did because the alternative is sort of playing in cheesier and cheesier entertainment parks, as a lot of groups going down the tubes do.'
He waited over a year to release his solo debut because his record company wanted to call it a Lovin' Spoonful record.
He played harmonica on the Doors' album ‘Morrison Hotel.'
The producers liked his TV theme enough to change the series name from ‘Kotter' to ‘Welcome Back, Kotter.'
