Why they might be annoying
Some fans wrongly assumed the group was from Europe because of their sound and the group's name.
MTV and several radio stations refused to play their song 'Sex (I'm A....)' due to it's suggestive lyrics.
In the liner notes for 'Pleasure Victim,' Terri Nunn posed nude and her contribution was listed as 'vocals, bj's.'
John Crawford called their 'No More Words' video a 'total ripoff' of the film 'Bonnie and Clyde.'
The video for 'No More Words' was banned in London for being 'too violent.'
Their song 'Take My Breath Away' was covered by pop singer Jessica Simpson.
They broke up shortly after 'Take My Breath Away' became a number one single (1987).
Why they might not be annoying
After more than a decade apart, they reunited to record a new album and resume touring (1999).
Their songs have been covered by artists such as System Of A Down and Alkaline Trio.
They opened for David Bowie.
They dismissed criticism of their song 'Sex (I'm A....)' by saying '(it) wasn't written for radio.'
Terri Nunn said: 'People wanted to minimize me as a person because I talked about sex openly.'
Terri Nunn graduated high school at age 16.
