Why he might be annoying
He challenged Andy Kaufman to a match for belittling wrestling.
He then supposedly hospitalized Kaufman for three days (of course it was fake).
In an uncomfortable, yet classic television moment, he slapped Andy Kaufman on 'The David Letterman Show.'
Andy then screamed obscenities and threw coffee at Lawler (July 1982).
Although the Letterman incident was staged, the coffee was real hot and burned Lawler.
He was kicked off the 'Man on the Moon' shooting for being too rough with Jim Carrey.
Why he might not be annoying
He approved of his wife, Stacy 'the Kat' Carter, when she exposed her breasts on a wrestling pay-per-view.
When his wife was fired from the WWF, due to an 'attitude problem,' he quit his job with the WWF.

One of his clever witticism is: 'Panties aren't the greatest thing in the world, but they're next to them.'
