The Resume

    (February 23, 1924-January 31, 2017)
    Born in Aarhus, Denmark
Birth name was Maren Margrethe Bartram
Revealed the identities of over 50 members of the Danish Resistance to the Nazi occupation government
    Received a death sentence (October 29, 1946)
Sentence commuted to life in prison by the Minister of Justice (December 9, 1947)
Released after serving ten years (1956)
Moved to Sweden and became a Swedish citizen

Why she might be annoying:

She dropped out of school at age thirteen,
    She turned informer for money.
Of the people she informed on, 35 were sent to concentration camps, where eight died or disappeared.
Her brother and her father were members of the Resistance, and she turned them over to the Nazis.
She complained when a psychiatrist who examined her for her trial described her as ‘callous.’

Why she might not be annoying:

After becoming suspicious of her, the Resistance tried several times to kill her.
She was shot by a Resistance member who recognized her, but survived because of the small caliber of the weapon used (December 12, 1944).
She was wounded when the Resistance set off bombs at the Gestapo headquarters in Esbjerg (May 5, 1945).
Her sentence was officially committed on the grounds of her youth at the time of her crimes. (Although the fact that Denmark had not executed a woman since 1861 probably was at least as significant a factor.)
