He was a Rule 5 pickup from the Arizona Diamondbacks system.
He is the first player in Major League history to go from Rule 5 to the All-Star Game in the same year (2006).
He established himself as an everyday player upon joining the Marlins.
He is considered one of the media friendly players by baseball pundits.
He hit the final home run at Shea Stadium.
